CAD modelling for jewellery is very intricate and technical. It takes highly qualified professionals with in-depth knowledge of the whole jewellery making process.
Robin Ashby, the founder of RA Design, is our resident CAD modelling expert. Robin graduated from the Royal College of Art and Design in London with an MA in Jewellery and Silversmithing having previously gained his BA at Loughborough College of Art and Design.
A respected jewellery maker himself, Rob makes pieces both by hand and from CAD printed wax moulds. Rob likes to keep a close eye on things all the way along the production process. His interest in a job does not end after a job leaves the studio. His technical knowledge of casting and mould cutting enables him to identify and deal with potential problems before they become an issue further down the production process.
Jewellery making is a very precise craft, it takes skill, patience and attention to detail to get it right. There are no shortcuts to making a successful piece. If you use us you can be safe in the knowledge that you are in expert hands.
